Hello Lipstick Lovers!
This is gift idea number two for you or your friends that are obsessed with all lipstick aka lipstick addicts. I have actually heard of this brand from Desi over on YouTube long ago. I was like what? Julep? I didn't pay no mind to it and had no intention in trying anything new. I had enough liquid lipsticks! I was over at Ulta like I mentioned in this blog here looking for some awesome curling iron because my previous one literally failed on me at ABC Kids Expo in Vegas. I think I even "accidentally" left it there. I was looking for another shade of lipgloss by Anastasia Beverly Hills and the sales associate introduced me to lorac lipgloss which i talked about in the other blog post imentioned AND she also introduced me to Julep. She mentioned it was her favorite liquid lipstick ever because it is different than the normal liquid lipsticks out there.
Before I talk about the actual lip products itself. I want to mention the awesome price point of this trio. Retail price of lip mousse by Julep is $20 each, and with this gift set you get three for the price of one and a half! The consistency of this is not at all like a "liquid" lipstick, its not even the creamy feeling of some liquid lipsticks like Dose of Colors. Julep's Lip Mousse feels so light and airy and it applies so wonderfully. Since it's a whipped consistency, it allows me to apply this with so much ease, I rate it FIVE STAR mommy makeup. It does not fall into the lines of your lips and most importantly, it does not dry out my lips at all. At aaaaaaaaaall. I had to emphasize that. It is SO comfortable. With that said, it does transfer, not as much as a regular lipstick, but it does leave some sort of transfer on your coffee cup. It's not a deal breaker for me because if my lips feel healthy and normal while wearing this, a little transfer is nothing! The color stays on my lips until night time when it's time to remove my makeup.
The Christmas season is coming up and it's almost or already is time for Christmas shopping. It's also a time to be together as a family, praising our Savior, remembering to be selfless and put a smile on our family and friends. Although, We should be doing that all year long not just on Christmas! We do not need to spend countless money putting a dent in our financial life or be stressed about what to gift them. Something little and thoughtful is more likely to be appreciated. We think of them, we give an effort for them, we strive to put a smile on their faces! I show you a wonderful little gift for those moms or any woman who love lip products. This specific set of the Lorac A Lavish Affair lipgloss set is amazing gift for the price! This set is available at Ulta or Ulta.com.
We as mamas can be too busy to do eye makeup sometimes because that blending takes time! Let alone those makeup palettes that have way too many colors that could be confusing in those sleepy morning times. That's why sometimes I save those extreme eye makeup for date nights out with the hubby.... BUT there is a simple eye makeup palette by Viseart called the theory palette. This specific one is called 'Cashmere' in their collection. It's neutral and so soft that it's super easy to blend. Forget blending for more than five minutes!
Pink and gold highlights are not colors I would have chosen for my highlights. Usually I choose champagne shades, but something about these are just so captivating. Yes it looks super pigmented in the pan and actually swatches darker than how it really is when applied with a brush. The end result is just way too pretty and proved me so wrong haha! I had a BUNCH of point rewards saved up from Ulta and I knew I wanted to spend it on these. These retail for $26 at Ulta if bought full price.
Jeffree star skin frost is here! I chose the shade peach goddess because I didn't have anything that was a peachy pink shade. I was a little worried that this shade might be too peachy on me or that it might turn too orange on my skin tone. I was glad to find out that this is actually a really nice pink champagne color! The one by Laura geller in the shade peach glow had a weird orange undertone that didn't scream highlight for me, more like a super bright blush that wasn't very flattering. Anyway, I'm really happy that this peach goddess one by JE is much more flattering. It does have a peachy sheen to it, but the pink really neutralizes it very well.
Before finding this one, I was using Murad Essential C cleanser for almost a year. I've always had a weird feeling using it because my face would feel so stripped. I used to think it was fine, but it's really not. My face would make more oils and therefore aggravating my T zone oil problem.
A great friend from beautylish.com forums named Rozberry told me that since I use a toner and moisturizer intended for oily skin, I will definitely benefit from using a cleanser intended for normal to dry skin to balance. That way I'm not stripping the natural oils present in my skin!
I was really drawn to this particular cleanser from Shira because it's targeted towards sensitive skin. At first when I received it, I was taken a back by the scent. I'm not sure if it is a natural scent from the chamomile Azulene or if it's an added fragrance. I was worried to start using this, but I told myself anything than the Murad I was using should be better as long as it doesn't contain SLS.
The first week, I didn't love it... Because I wasn't used to the milk formula and felt like I didn't clean anything. I kept noticing after the second and third week that my face is not oily. It's not even combination, it just feels NORMAL. The only dry part is on the sides of my nose! Everything else just feels normal. I don't really have a t zone problem anymore. It's so weird how changing a cleanser to a gentler one can do so much. Now I'm used to the lotion cleansing milk type formula and I much prefer it. It is not drying and just cleans the skin gently. I'll never go back to cleansers with SLS in it!
So... There was a little thread a few weeks back on beautylish.com forum of someone asking about this product and I was INTRIGUED. I was always so interested in the MUFE Aqua product in the sense that it was somewhat similar but the mufe one didn't have that many great reviews. I currently use ABH brow wiz/pomade but my pomade is so dried out and didn't want to purchase another one because of that reason.
