Being a part of a beauty community filled with wonderful ladies that share my love of makeup and skincare can be a life changing moment. I'm simply talking about how sometimes it can be so difficult to find certain products that fit our skin exactly. We can feel so overwhelmed with the many choices that are available to us today as well.
2% BHA Liquid:
I have been suffering from clogged pores upon the tops of my cheeks area as well as around the mouth and chin. They're not that bad, but they are there. I don't feel right to just leave them there because I know what's inside them! Haha! A friend of mine suggested I try Epionce Sport Lytic TX because it works very well for her. I said why not! I used this for a year until I realized it was not doing anything to the clogged pores on my face. They are still there after waiting patiently for a year. While they did not exfoliate and go deep within my pores, it did a good job keeping me matte and from getting any new acne.
Kitty, from beautylish.com community told me about the BHA liquid that she uses. She even showed me before and after pictures, even though I can see very well that her skin is so seamless from all the pictures that she has on her page! She advised me to try the liquid because it's formulated correctly for the BHA to work quickly. It's thin and it absorbs within at least 30 seconds. It has a toner consistency and even though directions told me to use a cotton pad and lightly apply on face, I put drops on my fingers instead and apply them that way. I do not like wasting products! Anyway, regarding consistency, I never thought about that the formulation and ph of a BHA product needing to be in the correct one would make such a difference. The epionce I used before was lotion like and it would take more than five minutes to sink in. I've reported back to her within three days and the clogged pores around my mouth are ALREADY coming out. Im very impressed with this one, and I highly recommend.
Calm Redness SPF 30:
With a skin like mine, which is combination and acne prone, I couldn't really wear just any SPF without some consequences. I would literally break out if I wear the wrong product. Most SPF that feels lightweight on the skin are chemicals, which means the skin would need to absorb it for it for at least 20 minutes before it starts to protect you. Chemical sunscreens definitely aren't my friends because they tend to irritate. Also, most mineral sunscreens aren't formulated right for combo skin, they are either too heavy or too drying.
This specific sun protection is a mineral kind, therefore it is called a sunblock, not a sunscreen. It contains titanium dioxide and the all healing ingredient zinc oxide. Zinc oxide is a best friend to acne prone or sensitive skin because of its healing properties. It also works a charm to block those sun rays! This particular one by Paula, is said to be directed towards normal to oily, but my honest opinion is this is more for normal to combination. True oily skin will find these far too moisturizing for their skin and they will feel greasy. This is perfect for me though, it hydrates my dry areas and keeps my oily areas normal.
I also find this sunblock to work great with makeup. It acts as a nice primer, sometimes I wonder what I'm going to use my hourglass mineral primer for, haha. They're literally similar except the hourglass primer is much more liquidy.
On a last note, this sunblock does NOT cause me to react within its ingredients and does not cause me to break out. I am very pleased to take the plunge on this because I was sure that it wouldn't be the one. I'm so glad to be proved I was wrong! Now I can go outside in the sun without fear of sun spots gradually forming on my face.
