Hello tarteist beauties!
Since you know my birthday has passed and Ulta had the 10 dollars gift card plus my own 10 gift card from LONG ago that was never used... I really had to grab a set of the new tarte lip products. I've been wanting to try these since it came out but I had my restraints. First, reviews said these transfers EVERYWHERE and never dry. Second, reviews also said the lip crayon BREAKS. Now, tarte is one of my favorite brands besides too faced and 100% pure... And I had to give them the benefit of the doubt, even after the tartelette in bloom failed me.
Since these were supposed to be transferring everywhere and never dry, I opted for a more forgiving color choice which is TBT and the according lip liner called Latergram. I didn't want to go super nude, because I already have a bunch of nude shades... Like hello too faced melted chocolates, which I LOVE.
The colors I chose are more of a mauve pink nude, which is suitable more of everyday colors that will not wash you out if you decide to go without eye makeup. This shade is definitely a grab and go lip color to go along with your favorite mascara and blush. Stay at home moms anyone? Let's look alive moms, while you drop off your babies to school! Lol, I need to learn to take my own advice. I complete about 2/5 days of the week of looking alive during school days.
Perfect match, aren't they? I truly love it! To compare with other brands, Mac faux is much, much lighter and too faced melted chihuahua is slightly lighter. Isn't it weird how I have more than one pink nude but they are all different? Sheesh. Now, on to the real talk of the formula.. I seriously have NO idea what the reviews are talking about. I applied the lip liner only on the outline of my lips, then applied the lipstick all over like usual, let it sit for a little and blotted. When I blotted, only a faint mark was left on the tissue! Of course, these aren't super matte kat Von d liquid lipsticks... But really, they don't transfer much. I ate a hot pocket with my coffee (ew?) and after I ate, it was still alive and well apparent on my lips! Coffee mug rim was not obliterated by lipstick marks either. This formula reminds me of the too faced melted chocolates, comfortable long wearing lipsticks that will definitely stain your lips as it fades throughout the day. To be honest, it didn't even fade all that much I still had to scrub it off with my oil based makeup remover.
In conclusion, I love the formula of this and would buy more if I had the money (lol) Oh yeah, regarding the lip liner breakage issue... I have no idea if that's true or not but I'm not going to find out by experimenting, haha. The lip liner is not even drying at all, another thing I was confused by the reviews on Ulta or Sephora, forgot which website I was reading. If at all, it was creamy and easy to apply! I should've taken pictures of me wearing this lipstick, rawr! I will next time, though.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and see you on my next post!
