The Fall Season

I love to decorate my home. It is a natural energy that fills the blood in the veins of my hands to just want to create. The fall season for me is the most beloved, comforting, and my favorite weather but as my overthinking mind connects to the heart, it is also a reminder of Us and who we are as people – of who we are as God’s sons and daughters. Last month, I begged my husband to take me to Hobby Lobby in the pouring rain to decorate our home with items that encourage and remind us who the Lord is and this one that you see is by far my favorite. It’s truth, it’s real, it’s beautiful, and extremely convicting because let’s admit we all fall short of this. This area is located in the hallway entrance of our house and it cannot be missed. It’s a beautiful reminder of who God is and in His image we are created to be like.

Fall decoration ideas

As I write this post, I am glancing in the backyard through my window and many leaves are turning yellow, orange, and red to prepare for its fall. Even though the trees will look bare and colorless for a season, it will later turn into the beautiful green it was once before, but some of these trees will have to go through a cold, hard winter. Like our life, we can let our previous habits or addictions and our selfish ways to fall away and grow back into what we are created to be but it requires our willingness and our faithfulness to God and for most of us, that could be our hard winter.
Even in all the process to the trees’ leaves falling, it’s so beautiful. The colors are so mesmerizing and it’s an incredible sight to see. The trees had to let their leaves fall so they can conserve water and nutrients to its trunk and roots during their difficult season of winter. Likewise, even through the difficulty of changing our ways, there is that fountain of water inside your hearts. There is the river of God’s love that moves through the veins of your body to retain your strength to make you new. If trees can be beautiful when it sheds its own leaves, how much more beautiful are you when you decide to change your ways? Even through your darkest days, how loved are you that you choose to give up your life for God? The autumn season and all the seasons that God creates has so many hidden, yet such visible messages to life. Let us return to the true nature of our hearts and ‘always pray to have eyes that see the best in people. A heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.’ How great can the Kingdom be when all of us possess these things? Let’s have those eyes, heart, mind, and soul!
