Our family went to Seattle last week and had a blast just walking around Pike Place Market! It's always so busy there but it was great! We finally had a chance to go on the Great Wheel, too. I think we had four spins total and the kids enjoyed it as well. Mileina had a little scare towards the end because she wanted to sit by herself haha! The swinging scared her and of course she wanted me to hug her and keep her safe. What a funny little girl. The kids kept on pointing at all the birds that were flying around. It was pretty high and good to say that I didn't get even the slight dizziness!!!! Awesome haha, I'm getting over the height scare little by little. Whooooo hooooooooo!
Okay, moving on. Afterwards we walked around pike place market some more and had a little snack at one of the shops. Keilani and Ezekiel had ice cream while MiMi had a pink lemonade drink! I had to have a latte and Zach had an Italian soda. We bumped into Jacob too I had no idea he works at one of the markets. It was nice to see him!
We had a baseball game to go to at 7, so we headed over there and of course MiMi falls asleep right before we got there! We came there pretty early at 6:00 PM, so I stayed with her in the car until she woke up while everyone came in early to get the free t-shirts! It was super cold and windy so we had to bundle the kids with a big blanket to keep their cute little bodies warm! Even though the Mariners lost, it was a fun experience for us because it was our first game as a family! It was also my first baseball game EVER!
On June 12th, 2015, our eldest daughter, Keilani, graduated from Kindergarten! I'm so proud of her and her achievements. In 9 months, she learned how to read, write, and math! I'm so amazed with kids and their eagerness to learn. She can now read books to her younger siblings and she does it well. In the beginning of the year, it was a hard start for her with new school, new classmates, and a BIG school. I think it took about a month before she started getting used to all the new things. I am so glad that she was placed in Mrs. Clark's class because she is the most sweetest teacher in the kindergarten world :)
The celebration was the cutest thing ever because the kids sang songs from Septermber through June. Each month had a theme and the different classes sang the songs. Of course, I only recorded the ones that she was in it otherwise my camera would die! It was a little hard recording hence all the shakiness because my youngest daughter kept pulling at me. Her class had the theme songs wheels on the bus, jingle bells, family, and last but not least all the kindergarten classes sang the Kindergartener song! Afterwards, the kids and keilani's classmates played at the school playground for a little bit before it was time to get ready for bed! I hope you enjoyed the video!
Sometime last month, specifically May 31, 2015 at around 3:00 PM the kids and I went to our neighbor, Patti's house for a little afternoon walk through her trail in the backyard. She is a gardener so her backyard is just so beautiful! It's like walking through one of those fancy gardens in Portland somewhere. Anyway, she has this little trail that they made and told us that they made a climbing apparatus for the kids out of chopped up trees! lol! It was a fun time because we also had a snack there on her picnic table. Her daughter, Crystal, picked some strawberries from nearby and it was so delicious with the homemade whipped cream she made! Let me tell you it tastes way better than the ones that you buy at the store! Time for me to learn how to make whipped cream at home haha... when I have the time. Afterwards, the kids played a game and blew some bubbles until we had to go home for dinner. The kids always have a good time when we visit her although we haven't been there in a while because she's been on vacation for like the umpteenth million months now! :)
Today was an important day to our daughter because it was our time to visit her at school! She got to show us her art works, her journal, and the things she does at school. They have a really good system there I was impressed. Her teacher of course is the friendliest teacher I've ever met, but she is stern too which is amazing. Not only is she kind, but she sympathizes and understands. Our daughter had a tough time adjusting to kindergarten in the beginning, but her teacher was so helpful that it didn't take long for her to enjoy school! I can see how happy she is at school and just how much she enjoys every aspect of it.
I'm so proud to be her mom, and just how proud to see how much she's grown. My firstborn is so not a baby anymore, and she's getting closer to the two digit age!! Ahh!! It was so cute to watch the kids say the Pledge of Allegiance. I haven't done that since a decade ago my gosh!!!! Reminds me of my elementary school years, except mine consisted of bad wardrobe, english as a second language, and humid weather :( but that's another story which we don't have to get into anytime soon, or ever.
One of her classmates was being so friendly to Ezekiel. He was reading books to him, and showing him around it was so sweet! I think he's an only child and wants a little sibling. What a great big brother he would be! Hehe. Anyway, this was a nice little visit and I think we made our big girl happy because of the smiles on her face! Even EZ enjoyed it too, I think he's ready for school!
LET'S BE FRIENDS!
