As a mom, our day is filled with many responsibilities that at times we forget to truly take a moment for ourselves. Sometimes I take this break, but then I do chores at the same time... like preparing my dinner, folding laundry, or even edit photos. It seems like a good multitasking break but if I’m going to be honest, at the end of the day, I truly feel drained from everything. We don’t need much time to rejuvenate, so that’s why I want to make a reminder to take your break without any other tasks in mind!
One of the things I love doing with my littlest is to find new playgrounds to visit. This is my last year before she heads to full day kindergarten so what better way than to explore! These moments go by so quickly that sometimes we forget to just take the time to cherish them. If you are in the area and looking for fun and free places that your children can enjoy, this playground at Frontier Park located near South Puyallup, WA is not one to miss. Read more to see the play structure!
There is something about the makeup process that doesn't really fulfill my desire to even put makeup on. I am usually very minimal when it comes to makeup 90% of the time. The other ten percent is saved for occasions and that's when I really take the time and go all out! Day to day for me is the bare necessities that helps me get over my zombie mom look.
I brush on some brow pomade, foundation, mascara, and lip product. On some days when I have more time to spoil my face, I put on some eyeliner. I have to admit though, I am really no expert at putting on foundation. No matter what I do, it just doesn't sit nicely on my skin and my dry parts are accentuated. That's one of the reasons why I've stopped putting on powder foundation because it is just not pretty, people! I've started to enjoy liquid foundation now that I'm older, but I still don't enjoy the process of putting them on and not quite satisfied how it sits on my trouble areas.
THIS POST IS IN COLLABORATION WITH MANTRABAND. SHARING MY FAVORITE PHRASES TO LIVE BY THAT ENCOURAGES TO BE CALM, TO TRUST, & BELIEVE YOUR PURPOSE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU FEEL LOST.
Have you ever found yourself in a place where you are just unsure about what you're supposed to do in life? Perhaps, you may be questioning if the things that you are doing have any meaning because it feels like you are not at your full potential. At one point in your life, you know that what you're doing is your calling, but others around you sometimes make you feel otherwise or makes you feel that your gifts and talents aren't up to their standards? I'm almost convinced that most of the time, it is our own voice that creates those thoughts but it doesn't make it any less real or less painful. What we can only do is to move on from there, but the question always remains the same. How?
THIS POST CONTAINS AN AFFILIATE LINK DUE TO MY PARTNERSHIP WITH EVY’S TREE, OPINIONS OF THE LISA IN BLUSH IS COMPLETELY MY OWN. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
For National Women’s History month I’m sharing about the beautiful ‘Lisa in Blush’ by Evy’s Tree. It’s a simple yet a complex piece that speaks true motherhood life! I knew I wanted a career, but I didn’t want to pursue anything that would pull me away from being the main caretaker of my children. I knew I loved to write, capture moments, and to create but It took me a very long time with frustrations, uncertainties, fear, and insecurities. Am I good enough? Has my talents and skills disappeared? Will anyone even care with what I have to say? Would sharing my thoughts make me too vulnerable? How will I even have time to do this? I realized that all the fear got in the way of what I envisioned when everything I pictured was actually bigger than me. The truth is 1 Corinthians 10:31: “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Find the Joy in the dreams that you have, then there is no room for fear.
This past Friday was the Father Daughter Dance hosted by our church and I was so excited for my girls because it was their first time! It was also kind of a last minute thing but I had to put my mama shopping game on and I have to say I was pretty happy with what we've found!
NEED SOME ORGANIZATION IDEAS FOR YOUR MUDROOM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE! I'M SHARING SOME IKEA FURNITURES PLUS SOME EASY AND AFFORDABLE HACKS FOR YOUR DREAM MUDROOM. THIS POST ALSO CONTAINS SOME AFFILIATE LINKS DUE TO MY PARTNERSHIPS WITH A COUPLE SMALL SHOPS!
One of the most helpful rooms in our house is the mudroom. Helpful in a sense that it limits the messy shoes that ends up in the house to be contained in this room. We live in Washington, so the mudroom term is exact for this purpose. It rains a lot here and soon comes the Spring season so you know what that means! More yuck muck mud! It snowed a few days ago and since the kids love to play in the snow, I no longer fret about any of my kids tracking crazy snow in the house. This mudroom is part of the house, but it isn't part of the house that it drives me insane to care that much about mud or snow. Read more to see how we organized this area!
